Group members attend EDIT detector school at CERN
In March 2026 two AG Thoma group members visited CERN in Geneva for two weeks and participated in the EDIT detector school.
The group participates in Hadron Spectroscopy Seminar in Brazil
Members of our research group recently attended the Brazilian-German WE-Heraeus Seminar on "Hadron Spectroscopy and the New Unexpected Resonances" in Paraty, Brazil. The event, which took place from 22 to 28 September, brought together physicists from around the world to discuss research in hadron physics.
The PANDA forward endcap calorimeter arrived in Bonn to be used for the new INSIGHT-experiment at ELSA
In 2023, our group started building the forward endcap calorimeter (FWEC), and after a successful test at COSY, it was transported to Bonn in 2024 for final assembly before installation at ELSA for the INSIGHT experiment.
The group participates in NSTAR 2024 in York
Members of our research group attended the 14th International Workshop on the Physics of Excited Nucleons (NSTAR 2024) held in York, UK, from June 17 to 21, 2024. The workshop brought together experts from experiments and theory to discuss the latest developments in the study of the baryon spectrum and excited nucleon structure.
The group attends the DPG Spring Meeting 2024 in Gießen
Our research group recently took part in the DPG Spring Meeting 2024, held from March 11 to 15 at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen. The event focused on gravitation, hadron and nuclear physics, and featured over 500 scientific contributions.
