Following major upgrades to the CBELSA/TAPS experiment in Bonn, a new data collection period began in December 2017 after a long pause. The short but intensive run lasted a few weeks and promised valuable insights into hadron physics.

After significant modifications to improve its capabilities (see publication below), the CBELSA/TAPS experiment at the University of Bonn started a new phase of data collection in December 2017 after a long pause. The upgrades were aimed at improving detector readout, triggering efficiency and more.

The data collection started on 4 December 2017 and lasted for several weeks until 18 December 2017. During this time, data was collected with a transversely polarized butanol target and a linearly polarized beam, which allowed the extraction of double polarization observables. The coherent edge was set at 1350 MeV.

During this beam time, the modified experimental setup was thoroughly tested. The extensive data collected during this beam time, but also during future beam times, will contribute to a deeper understanding of nucleon resonances.
